AdventHealth Hendersonville hosts event on unconscious bias

Press release from Advent Health Hendersonville:

AdventHealth Hendersonville announces its 2021 Community Leadership Development event. Once again, it will partner with Franklin Covey to present its Community Leadership Development Initiative, although this year’s event will be virtual.

This year, they will present Unconscious Bias: Understanding Bias to Unleash Potential. This workshop is designed to help participants understand that bias is a natural part of the human condition and discover how it affects decisions we make, engagement with others and responses to various situations and circumstance to either enhance or limit potential. Attendees will learn how to identify and adjust for bias, cultivate meaningful connections and choose courage in order to make real change.

“In my 30+ years of developing organizations and leaders, Franklin Covey’s Unconscious Bias seminar is perhaps the most powerful, important and impactful training I’ve experienced,” said Todd Gothberg AdventHealth Hendersonville Organizational Development Director. “This one-day event will open your eyes and mind to the reality of bias – helping participants identify bias and address biases in their everyday decisions and interactions, both professionally and personally. Simply put, it’s game-changing content and the interactive and engaging format makes the learning experience memorable and immediately applicable.”

This year’s workshop will be facilitated by Homero Bayarena. He is an award-winning Franklin Covey Leadership Consultant and Speaker. He has more than 30 years of experience in business and leadership development and has the ability to connect with workshop participants with his energy, experience and humor.

AdventHealth Hendersonville is excited to share that proceeds from this event will go to the Henderson County Education Foundation and its Leader In Me program which teaches crucial skills to the youngest members of our communities who are in line to become our future leaders. In its first three years, the participation of the community has allowed this initiative to raise nearly $35,000 for the Leader In Me program.
