AMOS offers virtual learning

Press release from Asheville Museum of Science: 

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, AMOS will continue to be a strong partner for members, community educators, children and their families. Though the museum is closed to the public, staff and educators are working with WNC school districts on distance learning options and providing online content available to parents and teachers to support their home school efforts.

Virtual Science:

  • Daily Dose of Science –AMOS is posting one-minute science videos, activities, lesson plans, and other science-related materials that can be used easily at home to support our communities virtual learning.
  • Community Expertise – AMOS is working with community experts on relevant topics from social distancing, mental health, and virus testing and its contagious nature to provide digital content to all through our communication channels. The goal is to provide the science from trusted leaders in our community that folks recognize. Science Interviews, Blogs, and Q and A will be available online in the coming days. If you are a science expert and have a topic of interest, contact AMOS.
  • Museum Store “To Go”– The Museum Store is offeAMOS ring items and packages at set prices for shipping or curbside pickup of different themed activities, kits, projects and games for sale through the online store. With a variety of fun and interactive items to choose from, the Store is an easy support for teaching tools.  Visit: ashevillescience.org/store

AMOS will remain closed to the public until public health officials deem it safe to reopen. We are committed to serving our mission while closed to public by providing access to quality science education.
