Press release
From Angel Medical Center:
Angel Medical Center encourages the community to “Fight the Flu”, by getting their flu shot and offering flu vaccinations during the annual “Drive Through Clinic”, on October 18, from 8 am to 4 pm by our Outpatient Medicine Department at the back of the hospital. Cost will be $25, cash or check, and Medicare Part B only is accepted.
The vaccinations are for children ages 9 years and over and adults.
The best time to be vaccinated against the flu is October, and November. Anyone who wants to reduce their chances of getting the flu is encouraged to have a flu shot. Flu shots must be given annually to prevent the illness as it protects for the type of flu strains anticipated for the current year.
People who should not be vaccinated without first consulting their physician, are people who have a severe allergy to chicken eggs, those who have had a severe reaction to an flu vaccination in the past, and those less than 6 months of age. Plus, anyone who has a moderate or severe illness with fever should wait to be vaccinated until their symptoms have passed.
According to AMC’s Infection Control Nurse, Dianne Lakey, RN, “The vaccine is not a live vaccine and cannot give you the flu.”
No appointment is necessary.
