UPDATE: APD asks public to help identify bank robbery suspect

UPDATE:

The Asheville Police Department believes the suspect is operating a Ford Taurus model year 2000-2007. The vehicle, which is a green or blue color (depending on the light), has a dark tint and Texas tags. Photos of the suspect vehicle are attached.

If anyone has any information on this incident they are encouraged to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110 or Asheville-Buncombe Crime Stoppers at (828) 255-5050, if they wish to remain anonymous.

Asheville, NC (May 14, 2019): At approximately 12:00 p.m. the Asheville Police Department responded to First Citizens Bank (975 Smokey Park Highway) after receiving reports of a bank robbery. A suspect, described as a white male with dark brown beard, wearing a plaid shirt, bonnie hat, sunglasses and jeans, entered the bank and presented the teller with a note demanding money. No weapon was presented and the note contained no threat of a weapon. The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money.
