APD seeks public’s help locating armed robber

The Asheville Police Department is asking for the public’s help following an armed robbery in West Asheville.

APD Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on May 9th at around 9:53 p.m. at a convenience store in the 200 block of Amboy Road. Surveillance video showed a masked man entering the store brandishing a gun. He left with approximately $400 in cash and other items, then fled on foot. The cashier described the gunman as a black male, tall, large build, wearing a charcoal grey/dark hoodie, and brandishing a silver and black handgun.

Detectives ask if you have any information about this incident to please contact APD at (828) 252-1110. You can also send an anonymous tip using the TIP2APD smartphone application (search “Asheville PD” in your app store) or by texting TIP2APD to 847411.
