While conducting crime prevention patrols Thursday, Asheville Police Department officers and detectives arrested a man for illegally possessing a stolen firearm.
Hakimye Chavares Bethea (9/14/2001) was arrested near the 40 block of Klondyke Ave. in north Asheville around 5:25 p.m. on April 14 and charged with:
Possession of a Firearm in Violation of a Domestic Violence Protective Order
Possession of a Stolen Firearm
Carrying a Concealed Gun

Seized:
Glock 19 9mm pistol (reported stolen by APD)
Bethea was transported to the Buncombe County Detention Center for booking; he has a secured bond of $26,500.
APD officers and detectives were conducting crime prevention measures in the Klondyke area, since this was the location in which five unoccupied vehicles in the parking lot sustained damage from gunshots early morning March 21.
