APD makes arrest in Shiloh incident

From the Asheville Police Department:

Asheville – As a result of an incident in the Shiloh Community, the Asheville Police Department have charged 18 year old Kewan Marquis Shade, of Asheville, with five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon with the intent to kill (two APD officers, three residents of the Shiloh community). Shade has also been charged with two counts of assault with a firearm on law enforcement. Chief William J. Anderson stated, “This was a very dangerous situation. We are thankful no one, including our officers were injured or killed by the actions of this individual. He presented a clear and present threat to law enforcement and the community and I am glad we were able to remove him from our streets.”

The charges are the result of the follow up investigation from today’s events in the Shiloh community. A 45 caliber and 9mm handgun were recovered during the investigation.
Shade is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on $350,000 secured bond. APD would like to thank all of the other law enforcement agencies for their assistance with this incident.
