APD seeks help in finding robbery suspect

Asheville – The Asheville Police Department responded to a robbery at Wal-Mart at 125 Bleachery Blvd. on August 6th, 2013 at 7:30 PM. Officers quickly learned a white male subject followed the 77 year old victim around in the store for some time and then grabbed her purse as she was walking to her car.

After snatching the purse the subject ran toward the end of the parking lot and Swannanoa River Rd. The subject was chased by Wal-Mart security and other witnesses. When the subject was almost caught by the witnesses, he pulled a knife and threatened them.

The subject continued to flee and ran toward the WNC Nature Center on Swannanoa River Rd. The subject was picked up by someone driving a 2006 or 2007 silver or grey 2 door Pontiac G6 with tinted windows similar to the one pictured in the attachment above. Witnesses stated that the car had a NC tag but they were unable to get the number.

The subject was described as a white male in his mid 20’s standing 5’9” to 6’0. The subject is believed to weigh between 170 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt with the word “Hysteria” across the front. He was also wearing blue jeans.
