Asheville Poverty Initiative presents an evening with 10 of the city’s best musical talents who are living below the federal poverty line.
The finalists, chosen during January 10th auditions, will perform at The Grey Eagle on Monday, February 24, at 7 p.m., and three winners will be chosen for prizes to help further their careers. The event will be recorded by Echo Mountain Studio for production of a CD to be pre-sold at the event.
The MusicWorks Chorus will kick off Hidden Voices with a performance of “We Shall Not Be Moved/No Nos Moverán.” MusicWorks Asheville teaches life skills through music to elementary students in Asheville City Schools.
