Press release from Explore Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau:
Over the years, an eclectic collection of festivals and cultural events has received grants from the Buncombe County TDA’s Festivals & Cultural Events Support Fund, ranging from time-honored happenings such as Shindig on the Green and Black Mountain’s Sourwood Festival to cultural celebrations like the Blue Ridge Pride Festival and Goombay.
The fund is made possible with revenue earned through advertising sales and lodging reservations booked on ExploreAsheville.com.
The online portal for grant applications for events happening in 2023 opens at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 29. Prior to that, Explore Asheville will host an informational webinar from 3 to 4 p.m. Organizers of 2023 events who wish to learn more about the grant program are invited to register and attend.
Submissions will be due on September 27 and awards announced on October 26. Grants will be disbursed after successful completion of each event in 2023.
