Architect Vladimir Belogolovsky, founder of New York-based Intercontinental Curatorial Project, will present a talk, “Colombia Transformed, Architecture = Politics,” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 in UNC Asheville’s Laurel Forum, Karpen Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Belogolovsky is the author of several books including the forthcoming Felix Novikov: Architect of the Soviet Modernism (Dom Publishers), and GreenHouse (Izdatalstvo Tatlin, 2009), about leading sustainable projects. He also is the American correspondent for the Russian architectural journal TATLIN, and a professor at the Moscow branch of the International Academy of Architecture.
Belogolovsky is curator of “Architecture, Art and Collaborative Design,” a traveling exhibition now at the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center, celebrating the ninetieth anniversary of the birth of Harry Seidler, the leading Australian architect of the twentieth century. Belogolovsky’s prior exhibitions include the foreign section of the Russian Pavilion at the 11th Architecture Venice Biennale, a retrospective of the work of Ángel Fernández Alba at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Madrid, Spain, and the GreenHouse exhibition at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall at Moscow’s Zodchestvo-2009 International Architectural Festival.
