Each student will be lead through four very important course topics for the design and marketing aspects of their business. One of the courses, “Basic Business Planning for Artists”, instructed by Jodi Rhoden of Birds Eye Business Planning & Adventures will focus on the components of building a basic business plan from scratch. In this course students can discover their mission, vision, and core values, get started on making a marketing plan and budget, and create a checklist of important next steps!

MarIlyn Ball, Owner of 12Twelve Marketing will be producing a class called “#WhatTheHeckisBranding?” and will be working with students to uncover what branding is. This class will focus on learning how to define yourself and discover a new strategic mindset for branding that will unleash the intangible and often untapped emotional assets that really appeal to your target audience.

Co-Founders, Marisa Falcigno & Shantanu Suman of Open Door Design Studio will be producing the class, “Image is Everything”. This workshop is for anyone interested in learning the basic digital image editing techniques primarily through the use of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. This 60 min workshop provides information, examples and tools that participants can integrate into their work and enhance the quality of images they use to represent their work or business.

The last instructor for this year’s Design and Marketing Symposium is the effervescent, Sarah Benoit of JB Media Group who will be presenting, “Your Passion is Your Message: Share It!” In this session Sarah will discuss how Passion + Planning + Action is the formula for success. This class will help students learn how to overcome their fear and kick off a marketing plan that is effective and tailored to meet your personal goals.
