Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity seeks volunteers for farmhouse tours

Press release from Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity:

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity is thrilled to be the non-profit partner of the 2020 Southern Living Idea House. Proceeds from ticket sales are expected to raise enough to build an entire Habitat home! Built by Buchanan Construction in The Ramble Biltmore Forest, this 3,500 square foot, Victorian-inspired timeless farmhouse will open for tours on Wednesday, July 29th.

As the non-profit partner, Asheville Habitat is seeking volunteers* to assist guests. This is a great opportunity to help Habitat build a home, without swinging a hammer yourself! Sign up solo or with a friend to be a Greeter or Check-In Attendee.

Greeters will welcome guests to the house, check tickets, and help ensure that capacity remains limited per current safety guidelines. Check-In Attendees, stationed at the Ramble Preview Center, will provide guests with gate passes, process payments for tickets (if not pre-purchased) and help direct traffic.

Opportunities are available Wednesday – Saturday 10am-1pm and 1-4pm and Sunday 1-4pm.

Sign up to volunteer here.  Purchase a ticket and reserve a time to tour the home here.

* Health and safety is the top priority of all parties involved. Extensive Covid-19 protocols are in place to help protect volunteers, guests, and staff. Please only sign up if you are healthy and feel comfortable being out in the community.
