Asheville Chamber to host virtual town hall for local business March 23

Press release from Asheville Chamber of Commerce:

During these extraordinary times, we believe more than ever in Building Community Through Business. Employers of all sizes, all parts of our region, and every industry in our region are making hard decisions about workforce wellbeing and retention, business continuity and contingency planning for a crisis that is proving unpredictable.

The Asheville Chamber and Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County will be hosting a series of Virtual Town Halls to get timely information to the business community that will help the families of our community endure the Covid-19 crisis, and thrive in the recovery that will follow.

On Monday, March 23rd at 1pm, please join us for Virtual Town Hall on Employment Resources to support both the business and the employee.

The panelists will offer urgent guidance and best practices on workplace safety and sanitation for current operations as well as overview the existing and newly introduced services available to best support the employer and the dislocated worker.

Special thanks to our panelists:

Nathan Ramsey, Executive Director of the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board and Land of Sky Regional Council

Rodney Embler, Executive Director of NCWORKS Asheville

We’re sharing the information with regional partners and pulling together recommendations for our elected officials for emergency relief measures.

One thing we heard was need for financial assistance. We’ve posted an FAQ on the SBA disaster loans that are now available and will be hosting a webinar Tuesday with local panelists on variety of financial supports.
