Asheville Creative Arts presents “Charlotte’s Web,” July 17-27

Co-Founders Abby Felder and Robbie Jaeger announce Asheville Creative Arts’ (ACA) main stage production of EB White’s classic, CHARLOTTE’S WEB, dramatized by Joseph Robinette, directed and choreographed by Robbie Jaeger, with a sound design of original bluegrass inspired music composed and performed live by Jonesalee, and puppets by Abby Felder, which will run July 17-27 at NC Stage (15 Stage Lane),

CHARLOTTE’S WEB is a story about Fern, and her little pig Wilbur who becomes famous with the help of his clever friend Charlotte and their chatty animal neighbors.

Building on the success of ACA’s inaugural production of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD presented in summer of 2013, Artistic Director Robbie Jaeger says that “CHARLOTTE’S WEB grows ACA’s creative vision, and we very excited to integrate the original compositions and performances of Jonesalee, helmed by former Doubting Thomas members, Gina Stewart and Brenda Gambil, as part of the sound design and storytelling.”  Adds Producing Director Abby Felder “The book is very dear to so many generations of readers, and will be lovingly dramatized by an incredible team. Children and adults will experience this story about friendship, love and loss as never before.”

CHARLOTTE’S WEB continues the company’s mission while launching a new partnership with NC Stage, Asheville’s professional theater venue, and will be presented as part of the Catalyst Series. It features a cast of local professional actors:  Maria Buchanan, Jenson Lavallee, Allen Law, Carin Metzger, Jenni Robinson, and David Sebren, and is stage managed by Jessica Tandy Kammerud.  The production team includes light designer Catori Swann; costume designer Eric Grace; props by Chifferobe Home and Garden, and from New York City, set designer Gian Marco Lo Forte. Music will be performed live by Gina Stewart.

Tickets for CHARLOTTE’S WEB are $10 (students); $20 (adults), with a limited number of $30 tickets for a patrons party on July 18 at 7:00pm, which includes a reception with refreshments for children and adults, and a chance to meet the cast.  Group discounts are also available, call 914-830-3000 for details, or ashevillecreativearts@gmail.com.  All tickets purchased through the NC Stage Box Office (link available at www.ashevillecreativearts.org) or by calling (828) 239-0263.
