Asheville High School lockdown

Notice from the Asheville Police Department:

Asheville Police responded to a call of a possible threat at Asheville High School (AHS) around 11:45 this morning. An 18 year-old student at AHS identified as James Javon Harris had texted another student that the school was in danger. The school went on lockdown and police secured an external perimeter. The School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Asheville High worked with the student who received the text and determined that Harris was likely not on campus. Asheville Police officers went to Harris’ known address and found Harris at home with his father. Harris was taken into custody and the lockdown was lifted.
