Asheville Police in search of driver responsible for pedestrian fatality

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

On Friday, April 13, at approximately 11:25 p.m. the Asheville Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle crash that involved a pedestrian. Joseph Matthew Ryan Styles, 27, of Asheville, was walking across the ramp from Patton Avenue to Westgate Parkway, near the FedEx building, when he was struck by white vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene before APD arrived. Style was transported to Mission Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect was driving a white, 2004-2011 Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon style truck. The truck was either a sport edition or had an after market sport edition grill (where center bar of grill is white, rather than chrome in color).
