Asheville ranked #19 on list of most affordable places to buy a car in NC

PRESS RELEASE:

The automotive buyer intelligence firm Autolist.com today released its second quarter 2016 Most Affordable Areas Analysis and ranked Asheville the #19 most affordable place to buy a car in North Carolina.

The study, which drew on over 72 million vehicles and 4.5 billion unique data points across vehicles of all makes and models nationwide, showed that used vehicles in Asheville were on average $459 more than the North Carolina average. Autolist.com’s study found that there were statistically significant differences in list prices at the state, county and even the city level across both North Carolina and the US at large. Results showed that while dealer density predictably contributed significantly to price differentials, other factors did so as well, such as manufacturer community presence and geography demands.

The top 5 most affordable places to buy a used vehicle in North Carolina were:

Charlotte, $396 below the state average
Gastonia, $358 below the state average
Winston-Salem, $283 below the state average
Cary, $280 below the state average
Raleigh, $243 below the state average
Asheville had its own unique price differences as well. Autolist.com’s study showed that the Volvo S60 was the most affordable vehicle in Asheville, with prices $1,669 below the North Carolina average.

The top 5 most affordable models in Asheville were:

Volvo S60, $1,669 below the state average
GMC Sierra 2500HD, $1,486 below the state average
Cadillac CTS, $1,002 below the state average
Ford F-350 Super Duty, $971 below the state average
Chrysler 200, $963 below the state average
As a result, there is an opportunity for people to save hundreds if not thousands of dollars on their next vehicle by taking advantage of geographic differences in used vehicles prices.
