In anticipation of the lifting of the Governor’s State of Emergency due to COVID-19, the city of Asheville is preparing to return to in-person board and commission meetings. The State of Emergency is slated to be lifted Friday, July 30.The city acted swiftly last year to find ways to continue serving the community by going to remote meetings, as was authorized under the State of Emergency. Without the State of Emergency, the city will no longer have the authority to conduct remote-only meetings.Committees with quasi-judicial functions may begin holding in-person meetings in July. These committees are:
All City Council and Council committee meetings will continue to be livestreamed and can be viewed on the City’s YouTube channel.
