Autistic scholar Elizabeth Grace to present lecture on “Disability Power” at UNC Asheville April 21

Autistic scholar, writer and activist Elizabeth (Ibby) Grace will present Activated Intersectionality and Disability Power in Today’s World from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, April 21 in UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library, Whitman Room. This lecture is free and open to the public.

Grace, assistant professor of education at National Louis University (NLU) in Chicago, is an editor on the online journal for the Center for Practitioner Research of the National College of Education at NLU, i.e.: inquiry in education and for NeuroQueer.blogspot.com. Her inquiries are focused on performance, culture, and activism, and her essays can be found in the books Loud Hands: Autistic People, Speaking; Both Sides of the Table: Autoethnographies of Educators Learning and Teaching With/In [Dis]ability; and Criptiques. Grace currently serves on the boards for Society for Disability Studies and Autism National Committee.
