AVL Beer Week goes virtual

Announcement from Asheville Brewers Alliance:

In consideration of the continuing impact of COVID-19, the Asheville Brewers Alliance has made the decision to postpone AVL Beer Week’s 10th Anniversary Celebration, originally scheduled for May 22-31, 2020, replacing its original event dates with a Virtual AVL Beer Week. A tentative reschedule date of September 4-10, 2020 is planned, only if local and state social distancing measures are lifted at that time, and it is deemed safe to plan gatherings once more.

Organized collaboratively with the Asheville Brewers Alliance by a dedicated group of volunteers from the Asheville beer industry, AVL Beer Week offers a variety of unique events hosted by breweries and retailers throughout Asheville. Until taprooms are re-opened and social distancing measures are decreased, Virtual AVL Beer Week will aim to promote all of the awesome virtual get togethers and curbside deals our local breweries are doing to keep us engaged, learning, having fun, and enjoying local craft beverages during these uncertain times! Join us on Facebook Live, Zoom and Curbside to enjoy trivia, brew house yoga, happy hours, to-go beer dinners, educational offerings, beer releases, beer specials and more. A calendar of events will be made available at avlbeerweek.com/events and will be shared via social media.

While years past have seen AVL Beer Week draw thousands of visitors from across the country, this year’s event will focus on engaging the local community as our industries begin to recover, providing a time for Asheville to shine as a creative, collaborative city of talented makers and innovative small business owners.

AVL Beer Week relies on the support of participants to sustain, and with our culinary and beverage industries facing an uncertain future, we will be looking for new ways to gain that vital support by making AVL Beer Week donation based while making it open and accessible to all participating businesses. Follow us at Asheville Beer Week on Facebook and @AVLBeerWeek on Instagram for the launch of this year’s fundraiser, continued news, and ways to attend and support.
