Press release from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation:
On Monday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m .the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will award lifesaving equipment to the Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families.
The awarded automated external defibrillators (AEDs) will help ensure the organization is prepared to provide medical assistance if an individual goes into cardiac arrest, and will be used to educate and train volunteers, staff and guests on how to properly use an AED.
Attendees include Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families Vice President of Finance and Development Sarah Thomas, Firehouse Subs Area Representative Shawn Hooks and Firehouse Subs franchisee Glenda Weinert.
In 2005, the Firehouse Subs founders established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, lifesaving equipment, and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has granted more than $37.7 million to hometown heroes in 47 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, including more than $1.2 million in North Carolina.
