Brevard Music Center announces April/May community concert series performances

Brevard Music Center (BMC), in association with the Asheville Chamber Music Series in Asheville, Brevard College in Brevard, and Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra in Hendersonville, is pleased to announce its April/May program of chamber concerts as part of BMC’s FREE Community Concert Series (CCS). The three April/May concerts represent the final performances of the 2016/2017 Community Concert Series season, which will resume in October 2017.

“We’ve enjoyed sharing wonderful performances with our friends and neighbors throughout the region,” said Brevard Music Center President & CEO Mark Weinstein. “As our 2016/2017 Community Concert Series comes to its seasonal end and we ready for this year’s BMC Summer Music Festival, we wish to thank our partner organizations, talented performers, and the thousands of attendees who have enthusiastically participated in these extraordinary events.”

Sundays with BMC: April 30 in Asheville
On Sunday, April 30 at 4:00 p.m., celebrated pianist and Steinway artist Douglas Weeks will perform Bach’s “Prelude and Fugue in F Major,” Chopin’s “Polonaise-Fantasie in A flat major,” Schubert’s “Piano Sonata in A major,” and selections from Ravel’s “Le Tombeau de Couperin.” The Sundays with BMC concert will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville.

First Mondays: May 1 in Brevard
On Monday, May 1 at 12:30 p.m., Mr. Weeks will perform at the First Mondays concert in Scott Concert Hall at the Porter Center of the Performing Arts on the campus of Brevard College. May’s Local First Mondays Charity Partner is DuPont State Recreational Forest.

Chamber Music Tuesdays: May 2 in Hendersonville
On Tuesday, May 2 at 12:30 p.m., Mr. Weeks will move to First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville for Chamber Music Tuesdays.
Chamber Music Tuesdays in Hendersonville are made possible, in part, through a grant from the Perry N. Rudnick Endowment Fund of the Community Foundation of Henderson County.
