Buncombe County Election Services recount update

Press release from Buncombe County:

Buncombe County Election Services is conducting a recount following a tie in the NC House 115 Republican primary on May 17. Additionally, with a margin of less than 1% for the Democratic primary for District Attorney, candidate Courtney Booth requested a recount for that race.

As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, Election Services staff and volunteers have completed a machine recount of all one-stop early voting locations, and 45 of Buncombe County’s 80 Election Day precinct locations. Staff is currently working through provisional and absentee ballots. Elections Services Director Corinne Duncan anticipates it may take another day for the machine recount to be completed.
