Buncombe County Election Services seeks feedback on Early Voting plan for 2022 midterm election

Do you want to have a voice in how Early Voting works for the midterm election this November? Buncombe County Election Services released this five-question survey, with results guiding real outcomes. The Buncombe County Board of Elections will take feedback into consideration when determining the number of locations and weekend hours for Early Voting, and by responding to the survey, voters can help ensure they have access to the locations and times that best suit their needs.

Proposed locations

  1. Black Mountain Library – 105 N. Dougherty St., Black Mountain 28711
  2. East Asheville Library – 3 Avon Road, Asheville 28805
  3. Enka-Candler Library – 1404 Sand Hill Road, Candler 28715
  4. Fairview Library – 1 Taylor Road, Fairview 28730
  5. Leicester Community Center – 2979 New Leicester Highway, Leicester 28748
  6. North Asheville Location – TBD
  7. South Buncombe Library – 260 Overlook Road, Asheville 28803
  8. Second South Asheville Location – TBD
  9. Weaverville Community Center – 60 Lakeshore Drive, Weaverville 28787
  10. Wesley Grant Southside Center – 285 Livingston St., Asheville 28801
  11. West Asheville Library – 942 Haywood Road, Asheville 28806

Proposed hours

Please note that voting hours are 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, as mandated by state law, but the Board of Elections can set weekend hours.

Proposed weekend hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Take the five-question survey here: engage.buncombecounty.org/buncombeelections. The poll will close on July 22.

What’s next?

The Board of Elections will meet on Tuesday, July 19 to review the Early Voting plan for the November Midterm Election and will vote on it July 26. After that, Buncombe County will publicize the finalized locations and hours on our website, through media partners, social media, and other platforms.
