The biggest sale of the period was 421 Airport Road, an undeveloped piece of land across from the large shopping center near the Asheville Airport. Mr. Leon Lance sold the property for $3,204,000 (approximately twice its taxed value) to MPG Kernersville LLC, a business entity that has been linked to Walgreen’s. A likely outcome could be a new Walgreen’s pharmacy on Airport Road.
Also in the southern part of the county, the defunct All Star’s Grill location was purchased by Salsa and Beer INC. It seems a Mexican style restaurant will be moving in.
The Family Dollar in West Asheville at 609 Haywood Road changed hands recently from property management company to another for the sizable sum of $1,100,000.
