Buncombe ID Bureau moving to 52 Coxe Ave.

Press release from Buncombe County:

The ID Bureau will be moving all daily operations regarding public fingerprinting services, criminal background checks, and all gun permitting processes to 52 Coxe Ave. Parking is available on-site. The ID Bureau is moving on Friday, Sept. 3, and our first day open to the public will be Tuesday, Sept. 7. During the move on Friday, Sept. 3, the ID Bureau will be closed.

Fingerprint and application services at the new location will continue to be by appointment only. The 52 Coxe Ave. office will not accept walk-ins. Issued permits may be picked up weekdays from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. (Please note: If your permit is ready to pick up, no appointment is necessary. If you are starting the permitting process, please make an appointment online or by calling (828) 250-4665.)

We encourage residents to begin all gun-related applications online at buncombecounty.org/sheriff. Click on the “pistol & handgun permits” button.

Please note the ID Bureau is closed on all Buncombe County holidays. If you have any questions about ID Bureau services, call (828) 250-4665 for questions.
