Canton Mill Town Hall set for June 1 at Enka-Candler Public Library

Press release from Rep. Caleb Rudow:

On Thursday, June 1, members of the Buncombe County NCGA delegation, a representative from the Governor’s Office, and subject matter experts will hold a listening session and town hall at the Enka-Candler Public Library in Candler, NC from 6:00-7:30pm. The members will be discussing what the government is doing to support businesses and workers following the Canton mill closure, as well as taking questions from the audience.

Last week, the Canton paper mill closed its doors after more than 100 years of operation. A life-changing event for the over 1,000 people who work there, the closing will have significant effects on the regional economy, including many businesses and workers located in Buncombe County. Businesses affected by the plant’s closure are encouraged to attend.
