Carolina Mountain Ribfest starts today, July 13

“The Carolina Mountain Ribfest will return for our sixth year to the WNC Agricultural Center Fairgrounds in Fletcher, N.C. July 13, 14, 15, 2012. The event features mouth watering BBQ ribs, chicken, brisket and pulled pork prepared by world class, award winning barbecue competition chefs from around the country. Savor all the traditional side dishes, beverages, desserts and comfort foods as well. There are vegetarian and seafood dishes also available. You can vote for your favorite, the Best Ribs and Best Sauce will win the People’s Choice Award. To work off that stuffed feeling, you can browse and shop the commercial exhibits and arts and crafts area. Enjoy the full Carnival with spectacular adult and children’s rides and games. On Sunday you can check out the Custom and Classic Car Show (11 a.m. through 3 p.m.) … Bring your lawn chairs and beach blankets and enjoy the day.

Hours are Friday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $7 daily for adults, children under 12 years are admitted free with adult. The Western Carolina Agricultural Center is located adjacent to the Asheville Airport at exit #40 off I-26 between Asheville and Hendersonville, N.C. The Carolina Mountain Ribfest is produced by Western Carolina Productions, Inc. and sponsored by Yuengling Brewers, Skyland Distributing, Pepsi Cola and Skyland Automotive.”
