Chris Lee of Kovacs & the Polar Bear launches Kickstarter to fund solo album

“Hey I’m Chris. You may know me from an Asheville band called Kovacs and the Polar Bear, or from any of my other musical adventures. Almost a year ago I won a songwriting contest and was granted some studio time.” So begins to Kickstarter pitch from Chris Lee of local indie rock/folk band Kovacs & the Polar Bear. Lee hopes to record his first solo album under the name “Birthday Boy.”

Currently Lee has raised $1,560 or his $2,800 goal and has just over a week remaining to secure the rest of the necessary funding. The Kickstarter campaign ends on Lee’s 32nd birthday.

The forthcoming album will include local singer/songwriter Kellin Watson as well as Lee’s bandmates, Nick Kovacs, Andrew Woodward and Joe Chang. To make a donation, go to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/birfdayboy/help-fund-chris-lees-first-ever-solo-album?ref=email
