City of Asheville swimming pools ready to open

Here’s the press release from the city of Asheville:

Asheville, NC – The City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department announces the following schedule for the 2014 swimming pool season.

Recreation Park Pool, located at 65 Gashes Creek Road, will open Memorial Day May 26 at 11 a.m. for military personnel only, with regular admission at 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.  On May 31 and June 1, the pool will be open from noon to 6 p.m.  Beginning June 7, the pool will be open Monday through Friday, noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.  For more information, call the pool at (828) 298-0880.

Malvern Hills Pool, located at 75 Rumbough Place, will open beginning June 7. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.  For more information, call the pool at (828) 253-1164.

Walton Street Pool, located at 570 Walton Street, will open June 7.  Regular hours are Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.  Call the pool for more information at (828) 253-1143.

Regular admission at all pools is $3 per person. Multi-visit, family, and season passes are available.  Free swimming lessons are also available on varying schedules.
