On Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at 8:30 a.m., the City of Asheville will commemorate the 16th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center. The observance will take place in front of the Municipal Building located at 100 Court Plaza in Asheville. The ceremony will honor the memory of the firefighters, law enforcement officers and other first responders and civilians who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Asheville Fire Chief Scott Burnette will lead the ceremony on behalf of the City of Asheville along with Asheville Police Chief Tammy Hooper. This ceremony is open to the public.
