Coalition of advocacy organizations announces group visit to Governor’s open house

 

A coalition of local organizations has announced two weekend activities connected with North Carolina Governor Pat McGrory’s planned stay in Asheville. On Saturday, May 14, the coalition will gather at the Governor’s Western Residence at 45 Patton Mountain Rd., where McCrory and his wife will host an open house.

On Sunday, May 15, the groups will gather for a march to the Federal Building from the Be Loved House at 39 Grove St. in Asheville.

Participating organizations include the Mountain People’s Assembly, the Asheville-Buncombe chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Asheville Showing Up for Racial Justice, Nuestro Centro Communidad en Lucha, Companeros Inmigrantes de las Montanes en Accion, Transmission, Black Lives Matter and Just Economics.13147449_1713224725598943_5912149717861767555_o
