Collaboration album honors the life of Aimee Wallis Buchanan

Thursday, Aug. 22 is the launch date for “A Life Well Loved,” album honoring the life of Rev. Aimee Wallis Buchanan. The pastor and youth minister passed away suddenly in February of this year. In her memory, 13 musical groups including The Secret B-Sides, Josh Phillips, Peggy Ratusz, and David LaMotte contributed tracks to the recording project.

“In addition to local flavor, artists from across the country and world have taken part, including Jeffrey Harper (of the Scotty McCreery Band), Jorge Sayago-Gonzales from Louisville, KY, and Jerry Wallis, sending a recording from Taiwan,” says a press release. “All proceeds from the album will go to Asheville Youth Mission, a non-profit that Aimee and her husband Bill Buchanan began in 2010 and which Bill continues to lead. AYM brings in hundreds of teenagers each year to volunteer in a dozen local agencies helping the poor, hungry, and homeless of Asheville.”

“A Life Well Loved” will be available for download at www.alifewellloved.bandcamp.com.
