CommunityLab to offer free COVID-19 testing for qualifying residents Thursday, March 4

Press release from Sanesco Health:

CommunityLab will be offering a COVID-19 testing event open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 4. The testing event venue is hosted by Biltmore Church (Arden Campus) at 35 Clayton Rd. in Arden.

Testing performed will be gold-standard PCR testing for COVID-19 via nasopharyngeal swab collection and is available to anyone regardless of symptoms or known exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Swab samples will be collected on-site by trained, experienced nurses. Results are available within 24 hours. No appointment necessary; however, pre-registration is encouraged. This is a no-cost community testing event (even if uninsured), and COVID-19 testing is free based on meeting qualification criteria.

To get tested at the event, stay in your vehicle and follow signage to the drive-through testing area. All testing staff will be wearing PPE, and anyone interested in testing must wear a mask. Spanish interpreters will be present.

Biltmore Church is pleased to offer its venue for this testing event, provide support staff for traffic flow management, and help raise awareness to promote this COVID-19 testing event.

“We’re honored for Biltmore Church to have the opportunity to demonstrate the gospel by serving our community through this collaboration with CommunityLab,” said Curt McClure, Missions Pastor at Biltmore Church. “As a church, we choose to serve others because Jesus first served us. We hope this COVID testing day will be a blessing to hundreds of families in our area.”

CommunityLab is committed to improving accessibility of COVID-19 testing to communities in western North Carolina. The local lab began COVID-19 testing with support from Dogwood Health Trust and allocates at least 10% of COVID-19 testing to serve uninsured in WNC.

For those interested in other COVID-19 testing options, drive-through testing is available at CommunityLab’s headquarters in Arden, Monday – Friday by appointment only. Additionally, CommunityLab aims to partner with local businesses, healthcare providers, healthcare organizations, public institutions, or private corporations of any size. Their team can customize services such as medical courier pick-up or Spanish translators to meet each organization’s unique needs.
