CoThinkk’s Community nominations for 6th annual awards open through July 5

Press release from CoThinkk:

Community nominations for the sixth annual awards event are now open through July 5th. CoThinkk uplifts leaders of color and allies who are playing a critical role in the social change ecosystem of Western NC and working to shift the narrative of communities of color. Designed specifically to create supportive networks, accelerate systemic change and seed new initiatives through a more equitable shared leadership model that raises the bar and causes for a more inclusive philanthropic ecosystem.

“The Community Leadership, Ally, and Next Generation awards are special because they continue to highlight the leadership of invisible leaders in our communities that are doing amazing work and heavy lifting that often goes unrecognized,” Tracey Greene-Washington, founder and author of Choosing Purposeful Alignment: The Messy Middle of TransformationAlignment, explained.

CoThinkk is asking community members to nominate leaders of color and allies who are playing a critical role in the social change ecosystem of Western NC and working to shift the narrative of communities of color. Learn more here.

Once the nominations process is complete, CoThinkk will ask the community to take part in a public voting process. The public voting process will start July 9th and end on July 31st, 2021. CoThinkk will award eight total awards: four community leadership awards, two next generation awards (21 and under) and two awards highlighting community allies.

CoThinkk started in 2014 with the intention to deploy investment strategies that address education, economic mobility/opportunity, and leadership development towards impacting some of the most critical social issues facing African-American and Latinx communities in Western North Carolina.

The organization is dedicated to social change philanthropy by bringing together community leaders who care about the economic and social well-being of communities of color in Asheville and Western North Carolina. CoThinkk’s total community investment has reached well over $200,000.

The CoThinkk community leadership award recipients will be announced at our virtual annual event held in August. Learn more at www.CoThinkk.org.
