Here’s the press release from the Buncombe County Democratic Party:
Asheville, N.C. (March 7, 2013) – The North Carolina Democratic Party will hold it’s annual precinct meetings across Buncombe County during March. The time and location of precinct meetings are available at: http://buncombedems.org/events/precinct-meeting-info/. This webpage will be updated as more meetings are scheduled.
Meetings are free and open to any registered Democrat residing in the precinct. Attendees will be electing delegates to the Buncombe County Convention to be held on April 20th.
“Dedicated precinct organizations have always been the backbone of our county’s party,” said Emmet Carney, Chair of the Buncombe County Democratic Party. “We must work for every vote across the county if we intend to stop the radical policies coming out of Raleigh and preserve our resources here. We are going to do it from the ground up. In terms of education, health care, women’s rights, and voting rights, we we will not let this bunch of Republicans take us back to the 1950s. We cannot send North Carolina backwards. We must move forward.”
