This past Monday, July 13, Just Peace for Israel/Palestine, Veterans for Peace, Chapter 099, and Western NC Physicians for Responsibility, in partnership with the U.S. Drones Quilt Project and the Asheville Area Arts Council, opened a public exhibit showcasing four handmade quilts that were created in memory of U.S. drone attack victim.
The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m.– 6 p.m. at the Asheville Area Arts Council’s gallery in the Grove Arcade, and close on Saturday, July 25.
On Wednesday, July 22, from 5 – 7 p.m., the sponsoring organizations will host a gallery reception and panel discussion, which will explore the human and legal consequences of U.S. drone attacks in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Iraq and Syria, as well as focusing on the human impact of Israel’s drone attacks on Gaza.
The gallery is not open on Sundays.
