East Asheville Library Update: Final Steps and Preparations

Press release from Buncombe County:

Construction on the new East Asheville Library facility is moving along and on schedule, however there are still some important steps to go before Buncombe County Public Libraries (BCPL) turns the final page on this project.

New furniture, IT, and audio visual needs are being assessed, ordered, and installed. All circulation materials will have to be moved back in and arranged. The playground equipment will be installed and will serve as a National Demonstration Site by PlayCore’s Center for Outreach, Research, and Education (CORE) for data collection to highlight best practices and outcomes achieved. And, a final LEED inspection will still have to be scheduled before BCPL can welcome our East Asheville family back into the building.

BCPL has created a photo gallery we hope will inspire imagination and future visits. We can’t wait to start this chapter at our new facility and welcome patrons back safely in person to this beautiful facility. Stay tuned to our website and sign up for our Library newsletter at buncombecounty.org/library to stay up-to-date on all the latest BCPL news.
