RALEIGH — Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin and Equality North Carolina Executive Director Chris Sgro will host an early vote rally with Roy Cooper at 7:30 P.M. TODAY, THURSDAY OCT. 27 at Hi-Wire Brewing in Asheville.
The event is a part of a series of GOTV events this week from Turnout North Carolina — a project of the Human Rights Campaign PAC and Equality North Carolina Action Fund PAC — to encourage pro-equality voters to vote early.It’s not too late for pro-equality voters to register to vote in North Carolina. During the early vote period that runs through Saturday, Nov. 5th, residents can register to vote and cast a ballot at the same time at any early voting location in their county. More at hrc.im/NCVote.HRC and ENC have endorsed pro-equality candidates up and down the ticket this year in North Carolina, including Roy Cooper for Governor, Deborah Ross for U.S. Senate, candidates for the General Assembly, Josh Stein for Attorney General, and Linda Coleman for Lieutenant Governor.North Carolina has 255,000+ LGBTQ voters — a critical number of potential voters in a state that President Obama won by just 14,000 votes in 2008.
