Press release from American Institute of Architects:
The 2024 AIA Aspire Conference, featuring keynote speaker Erin Brockovich, will occur from September 15-17 in Asheville, North Carolina.
This dynamic event brings together architects, designers, and industry leaders from across the southeastern U.S. to explore cutting-edge topics in architecture, design, and climate science. The conference, known for its unique “Talks and Chats” format, will be held at multiple walkable venues throughout downtown Asheville, creating an immersive, city-wide experience.
Bringing the AIA Aspire Conference to Asheville is a milestone for the Asheville community. Organizers are thrilled to showcase Asheville’s vibrant culture and engage with the city’s local businesses and services. Attendees are in for an unforgettable experience, from the inspiring keynote by Erin Brockovich to the educational sessions spread across the beautiful city.
In addition to Erin Brockovich’s keynote taking place at The Orange Peel with tickets available to the public, the conference will feature over 30 different sessions, tours, and events, including a special focus on climate science and sustainable architecture.
With record-setting early bird registration, this year’s conference is expected to be the largest yet. Young professionals attending the conference will also use their time in Asheville to give back to the host city through a partnership with Homeward Bound of WNC. You will see attendees all across the city helping to clean up and beautify the streets of Asheville while also making vital donations to the organization as well to aid citizens in need of basic necessities to distribute to individuals and families of Western North Carolina who are moving out of homelessness and into housing.
The AIA Aspire Conference is organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapters from Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina. With thousands of members across the region, AIA Aspire aims to elevate the profession through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
