Foothills Humane Society to waive adoption fees year-old dogs and cats Jan. 24-25

Press release from the Foothills Humane Society:

WHAT: On Friday and Saturday, January 24 and 25, Foothills Humane Society will host Free Love, a special adoption event. All adoption fees will be waived for dogs and cats over one year of age. Dogs and cats in all sizes, colors, ages and breeds will be available for adoption.

The Foothills Humane Society adoption process will be followed, waiving the fees.

Potential adopters are encouraged to get preapproved by completing an on-line application, which can be found HERE. If not preapproved, some animals may not be taken home the day of the adoption.

While adoption fees are waived, donations are still accepted and greatly appreciated. Donations can be made here: Donate or at the shelter.

Most of the cats and dogs at FHS are ready for adoption, however, there are some who are being treated medically and some that are still in training. Those animals will not be a part of the Free Love adoption event.

WHY:             “With this fee-waived adoption event, we are hoping to generate interest and curiosity within our community about our shelter and the benefits of providing a loving home for a dog or cat in need. There have been questions raised about the quality of homes with fee-waived adoptions, but it should be noted that published studies have shown that fee-waived promotions increase adoptions without compromising the quality of care that animals receive. As is our practice in every case, adoption counselors will meet with each and every adopter.  Foothills is committed to finding the best match for the mutual benefit of animals and owners alike,” says Michele Brulé, Executive Director, Foothills Humane Society.

WHEN:          Friday and Saturday, January 24 and 25, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

WHERE:        Foothills Humane Society is located at 989 Little Mountain Road, Columbus, North Carolina, 28722.
