Frank & Allie Lee will play the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 7:30 pm. Frank and Allie are western North Carolina old time and folk musicians. Frank, the long-time leader of The Freight Hoppers, joined forces with Allie in 2016. As fans of old American music recorded in the 20s, 30s and 40s, they learn, arrange and record their favorite songs by the artists they love. Their newest album, Treat A Stranger Right was #1 on the folk radio charts for January and February 2020.
This concert is general admission and the entry is free. The concert will be live on the Stecoah stage and also streamed online. Please go to our website www.stecoahvalleycenter.com to access the online link. Doors open at 6:00pm – Concert begins at 7:30 pm in the air-conditioned Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. The concert is sponsored by United Community Bank and WBHN 94.1.
The Schoolhouse Café will be offering hot dogs, BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, ice cream, homemade desserts, and assorted drinks. The Cafe will be open from 6 – 7:30 pm.
The bi-annual Arts & Crafts Drive About will also take place on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26, 2021. Featuring artists and artisans in Graham and Swain Counties, the arts & crafts studios and galleries on the tour are open 10 am – 5 pm both days. Admission is free. The Drive-About tour maps are available in the Artisan Gallery and also on our website, www.stecoahvalleycenter.com. This year’s sponsors of the Arts & Crafts Drive-About are Graham County & Fontana Village Resort & Marina.
Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is located at 121 Schoolhouse Road in the Stecoah community off Hwy 28 between Bryson City and Fontana Dam. Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is a non-profit corporation that serves the people of Stecoah and Graham County through programs and services that benefit all members of the community, by preserving and promoting the Southern Appalachian mountain culture and through the restoration of the historic old Stecoah School to its original role as the center of the community.
