Group to call for removal of Confederate statue in Sylva Saturday, July 11 at 1 p.m.

Announcement from event organizers:

Reconcile Sylva wanted to make your organization aware of our upcoming event this Saturday at 1pm in Sylva, NC. It is a discussion and march focused on removing the Confederate statue outside the Jackson County Library, also known as the “Old Courthouse”, that currently shadows downtown Sylva. Our group, Reconcile Sylva, was formed by local tax-paying citizens of Jackson County who wish to see our County grow forward and recover from the choices of its past. We are encouraging all residents to come out and call for the Sylva you want to see! Please join us at Bridge Park in downtown to document this peaceful event. We would be happy to have you.
