From Hands On!
Hendersonville, NC – Holly-days is a month long educational extravaganza with a wintery wonderland & holiday theme! We will also be offering winter & holiday themed programming all month focusing on science, literacy, math, health, music, art, and cultural/religious festivals. Join us for Mad Scientists Lab, Book n’ Craft, Yuletide Rhythm, Winter Arts & Crafts, Elves Workshop, Holidays from around the World, and more – some activities are free with admission & some have a small fee. This month long festival of learning fun is sponsored by the Glass Foundation.
Tues. 12/10 10:30-11:00 am. Mad Scientists Lab – Snow Paint! Ages 3 yrs & up. Join Dr. Bunson & Dr. Beaker in the Mad Scientist Lab as they make crazy concoctions. $7 non-members (includes admission for child participating in class); free for members. Limited spaces. Please call to register.
Tues. 12/10-Fri. 12/13 2-4 pm. Elves Workshop – Ornament Gifts. Join the elves to make up to 3 different craft ornaments that can decorate your house or be used as gifts for loved ones. $7 non-members (includes admission for child participating in workshop); $2 for members.
Wed. 12/10 10:30 am. Book n’ Craft! Join us for “Animals in Winter” and create a book themed craft. Free with $5 admission/free for members.
Thurs. 12/12 10:30 am. Candy Cane Math. Join a Hands On! educator to learn math through candy canes and finish with a take home craft. Free with $5 admission/free for members.
Fri. 12/6 10:30 – 12 noon & 2-4 pm. Winter Arts & Crafts – Snowman Crafts. All ages. Every Friday for the month of December we will host Winter Arts & Crafts. Join us for crafts that celebrate winter! Free with $5 admission/Free for members.
Sat. 12/14 7-9 pm. Grown-up Science Night! Learn the science of wine making and chocolate! Join Hands On!, Falderal Winery, Kilwins, Fountainhead Bookstore, Sage Gourmet, and Dancing Bear Toys for a fun night of grown-up science & entertainment! Participating partners will have goodies on hand for purchase and enter to win door prizes. $15 single ticket; $25 couple ticket. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Hands On! Limited spaces for this fun holiday event. Call 697-8333 to purchase your tickets.
The mission of Hands On! is to provide children and families with “hands on” educational experiences that stimulate the imagination and motivate learning in a fun, safe environment. Special classes are offered in the facility all year long, and teachers can call Hands On! to learn about traveling programs available in schools. Hands On! is located at 318 N. Main Street.
