The Asheville Downtown Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Hayden Plemmons as Executive Director, effective July 12, 2023. Hayden brings a wealth of leadership and operational experience to the role, with a diverse background in place-based economic development, city building and hospitality.
Prior to joining the Asheville Downtown Association, Hayden served as the Senior Director of Operations at the Downtown Denver Partnership, a dynamic member-based organization and Business Improvement District dedicated to advancing Downtown Denver, Colorado as a vibrant and thriving city center. Bringing together businesses, property owners, residents, and government entities, the Partnership plays a pivotal role in shaping the economic, cultural, and social landscape of downtown.
Hayden played a fundamental role at the Partnership, driving strategic initiatives, advocating for public policy, and promoting place-based economic development. Through collaborative stakeholder efforts and impactful civic leadership programs, Hayden fostered an inclusive and dynamic environment, attracting businesses, residents, andvisitors to create an economically vibrant Downtown Denver.
After graduating with bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Tourism Management, and Community Leisure Services from Georgia Southern University, Hayden began her career in hospitality at The Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, serving as HR Generalist and Recruiting Manager, overseeing recruitment efforts both domestically and internationally. She then joined The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa in Denver as Assistant Director of HR, redefining recruiting strategies and managing operations. Hayden later advanced to the role of Director of Talent Acquisition, recruiting hospitality professionals at all organizational levels.
Motivated by a desire to contribute to the economic vibrancy of a thriving city, Hayden has set her sights on Asheville, North Carolina. With her extensive experience and proven track record in driving growth and excellence, she is excited to bring her exper>se to the Asheville Downtown Association team.
