Haywood Community College hosts online selling series for small business owners

The Small Business Center at Haywood Community College will offer a free E-Commerce for the Small Business Owner seminar series, Thursday, May 30, in the College’s Public Services Training Facility, room 9105. Current and prospective Small Business Owners will have the opportunity to learn more about increase product sales online through hosts including eBay, Amazon, Shopify and Etsy.

“Selling Online Today” will kick-off the series from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. One way to expand your small business is to sell products online. Developing a revenue stream from online sales is an easy way for small businesses to increase their profits. Learn what sites work best to sell your product or service. Participants will explore the features of well-known e-commerce hosts such as the eBay Store, Shopify, Amazon.com, and Etsy as well as other options for creating an online store.

The series will continue with “Selling on Shopify” from 1-4 p.m. Whether your small business sells online, on social media, in store or out of the trunk of your car, Shopify has you covered. No design skills needed. Establish your brand online with a custom domain name and online store. With instant access to hundreds of the best-looking themes and complete control over the look and feel, small business owners finally have a gorgeous store of their own that reflects the personality of your business. Everything in one place. Selling products in many places should be every bit as simple as selling in one. Speaker for this series is Nick Hawks. He is an education specialist trained by eBay. He has over 20 years’ experience of buying and selling antiques and collectibles, with over 13 years selling on eBay.
