Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) will host a drive-through flu shot clinic on Tuesday, October 27 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. The clinic will be held at the Smoky Mountain Event Center (Haywood County Fairgrounds). The SMEC is located at 758 Crabtree Road in Waynesville.
Flu shots will be available for those ages 18 years and over. The high-dose flu shot will be available for ages 65 years and over.
Receiving a flu shot is the most effective way to prevent getting the flu, and all individuals ages six months and up are encouraged to receive a yearly flu shot. The vaccine is made with a killed virus that cannot cause illness. Individuals are encouraged to receive a flu shot as soon as possible, as it takes about two weeks to develop protection against the virus.
Appointments are not required. Most insurances are accepted. Please bring your insurance card and a photo ID. For questions, please call 828-452-6675.
