News release from the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office:
Earlier today, the Haywood County Justice Center was evacuated as a precaution following a bomb threat. Local law enforcement and emergency responders quickly secured the area and conducted a thorough search of the facility.
After a careful investigation, no credible threat was found, and officials have given the all-clear. The Justice Center has resumed normal operations, and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the source of the threat. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact our office at 452-6666.
We appreciate the swift response of our deputies, Waynesville Police Department, Waynesville Fire Department, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, emergency personnel, and partner agencies, as well as the patience and cooperation of the Justice Center employees and the public.
