Jewelry Trunk Show at the Grand Bohemian
Heart & Soul
Friday, Jan. 31, 5-8 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 1, 11-2 and 5-8 p.m.

The Grand Bohemian Gallery presents a colorful Jewelry Trunk Show just in time for Valentine’s with Toronto artist Amber Higgins and her stellar glass jewelry designs. This will be the artist’s sixth visit to Asheville. The annual “Heart & Soul” show headlines Higgins, although the gallery will also be showcasing the works of locally-based jewelry artisans that weekend.

The Toronto, Ontario-based artist will unveil her newest collection featuring handmade lampwork beads and handcrafted necklaces, bracelets and earrings. A self-taught bead maker, Amber uses a range of silver, pearl, and crystal bead chains, offsetting the stunning glass creations she makes in a variety of patterns, colors, and styles.

Perfecting a variety of designs since the 1990’s, Amber “draws” delicate filigree designs with molten glass and handcrafts individual beads before a stationary torch. Her designs are limitless, created on silver and crystal beaded chains, hand hammered silver links, pearls, gem stones – using the finest Murano glass as her raw material. Colors and patterns range from neutral blacks and whites to all colors under the rainbow; from whimsical polka-dots to seductive tiger and zebra stripes, as well as sculptural three-dimensional designs, and dichroic pieces.

Every year the artist also unveils a new design, in addition to her telltale hearts. Works from our local artists Claudia Herr, Ettamarie Wasson and Diana Fakhoury will also be on display.

Join us for refreshments and meet Amber as she unveils this exciting collection!
